The Only Obstacle in Life, is a Four Letter Word.

M I N D

The only obstacle in life, is four letter word.  Your monkey MIND, to be more precise.  That’s it.   Could it be that simple?  Yes.  It’s been shown, time and time again, that people become the thoughts that they accept to be true.  It follows then, that if we believe what we think and our thinking is not aligned with what we want, our mind then, is an obstacle to realizing and achieving what we want.  The solution is simply, we want to get our mind out of our way, so that we can realize and achieve what we want.

When your mind is the obstacle, to getting our mind out of the way.

Unfortunately, our mind can be the obstacle, to getting our mind out of our way.  Here are some steps to get our mind out the way, that work for us:

  1. We want to become aware that our monkey mind is the obstacle, holding us back from giving or receiving what we want.
  2. Remember that we can regain control over our mind.
  3. We want to make sure we have the energy that we need to increase our momentum and increase clarity, such as getting enough rest, exercise and nutrition.
  4. Next we want to regain control over our mind, by following these steps:

(a) observing the thoughts and stories we are telling ourselves, that are not aligned with what we want to give or receive;

(b) recognize that our mind, is perceiving a threat and is trying to alert us to that perceived (but fictitious) threat, by using thoughts and feelings that steer us away from what we want;

(c) after realizing that the thoughts and stories we are telling ourselves are not real threats now, we want to thank our monkey mind for trying to protect us and reassure our monkey mind that there is no real threat (just like assuring a dog, that the sound of the doorbell and the mail carrier are not real threats);

Once the monkey mind stops trying to alert us, we can then increase our momentum toward that which we want to give or receive.  In this momentum, clarity of our purpose and underlying drive will increase.  With increasing momentum and increasing clarity, we are less likely to be derailed by the monkey mind as often, but it will happen.  Failing to take care of our body and mind, such as not getting enough rest, exercise and nutrition, will result in decreased energy.   Momentum requires energy and without energy momentum slows, followed by a decrease in clarity and ultimately the mind will ramp up its warnings again, creating obstacles for us.  When this happens, simply start with step one, above, again and work your way through.
